The Management Team
Phil Hall, Chairman
Founder and Chairman Phil Hall is an award winning journalist. He was editor of the News of the World for five years, Britain 's biggest selling newspaper. From here he moved to take up the reins at Hello! magazine where he was editor in chief.
He later became the Editorial Director of Development for Trinity Mirror, Europe 's largest newspaper publishing group and in his time there was responsible for the launch of several new magazines.
Phil has won eight major awards as editor of the News of the World and Hello! including International Magazine of the year.
He has held influential positions on the Press Complaints Commission, first as a senior representative of the newspaper industry and then for an unprecedented second time as a representative of the magazine world. Recently he has also been a judge in the highly prestigious UK Press Awards.
Phil makes regular television and radio broadcasts and is a media expert to the BBC, ITN, Sky News, Radio 5 Live, LBC to name but a few as well as writing media articles for the likes of the Independent and the Guardian.
He has worked with many celebrities and high profile people over the years including Pierce Brosnan, Celine Dion, Bob Geldof, the President of Ecuador and Heather Mills McCartney.
He mixes at all levels and in all sectors of the media. Phil has trained and set on their career paths more journalists than most PRs would ever hope to meet.
Mark Gregory, Managing Director
Mark joined Phil Hall Associates (now known as PHA Media) in 2006 as a Partner and brings an impressive record of commercial achievements.
In addition to his formidable background in marketing and as managing director to a global data services company, Mark established himself as an entrepeneur when in 1997 he founded his own sales and customer services company which after seven highly profitable years was the subject of an acquisition in 2004.
Marina Hall, Finance and Legal Director
Cambridge University graduate and former European Patent Attorney, Marina moved to Phil Hall Associates (now known as PHA Media) in 2005 from her legal background and looks after all accounts, legal and staff matters.
The Management Team is assisted by, Emma Heley our PA and Office Manager, the "real" boss of the office! Emma came to PHA after successfully completing her degree in Journalism and Print Media and following a successful role in a leading fashion house. Her experience in promotions and her real passion and knowledge of the media ensures she ably fulfills her role as PR assistant too.
The Teams
Stuart Skinner, Account Manager
After leaving Oxford University with a First Class degree in Classics,
Stuart moved to London determined to break into the media. He gained
experience writing sports reports and undertaking celebrity interviews with
amongst others The Daily Telegraph and The Observer newspapers, before
joining PHA. His communication skills and initiative give him a firm footing
in PR.
Stuart has a particular interest in sports and is fiercely competitive on the cricket pitch or squash court in his spare time - that will explain the racket he is always making!
Stuart heads up one of our PR Teams dealing mainly with Sports clients as well as our Media clients in the world of TV. Working for Stuart are PR Executives:
Katie Matthews, Ciaran McCale and Louise Mitton
Shelley Frosdick, Account Manager
After graduating from Reading University, Shelley worked in the national press office of the Environment Agency, handling all aspects of their press office activity for this busy government agency. She also has a background in retail and hospitality, making her a great all-rounder, and shopper!
Shelley now heads up our PR Team responsible for our retail and lifestyle clients and is assisted by a vibrant team of Pr Executives:
Alex Duxbury and Imogen Rowland.
David Brookes, Account Manager
With a strong background in television, print and multimedia journalism David is our media all rounder. David has previously worked for the BBC, ITN, numerous TV production companies, the Evening Standard and Hello! magazine to name just a few. David has particular expertise in online PR.
As well as building an impressive portfolio in PR, David has found time to write a major new book for one of our high profile clients, The Dore Centres,and has put his television skills to good use, having produced several short films for PHA.
David also has good contacts in Asia, having lived and worked in Japan for two years.
David works with Account Manager, Kimberley Nanson and is ably assisted by PR Executive, Maria-Victoria Valencia.
